Our Coaches

All Coaches participate with the Haverford Youth Wrestling Club on a volunteer basis. These individuals have both a love of the sport and a desire to develop and positively motivate our local youth in the sport of wrestling. They dedicate countless hours year-round to help maintain the high standards and level of quality that has been the hallmark of our organization.

Haverford Youth Wrestling Club is a member of USA Wrestling. As a member all coaches, board members and parent volunteers are required to undergo a background check and Safe Sport Certification before they can participate.

Head Coach  Michael-Patrick Glenn

  • Michael-Patrick started with the program as a wrestler in 1991. He advanced  through the program until he entered High school. Michael-Patrick had a successful high school wrestling career. He was a PIAA Regional Qualifier and was named to the Delaware County All-Delco team.  Michael-Patrick attended The Williamson College of Trades where he continued his wrestling career.  Michael-Patrick returned to the program as a coach in 2009.

Asst. Coach -Sean Stoner (President) ( Dual meet Pairings Coordinator)

  • Sean became involved in the youth program as a parent volunteer/coach when his son Drake began wrestling in 2016.  Sean had a successful high school wrestling career as an NJSIAA State Qualifier and was on the Burlington County All-Burlco team. Sean has coached football, track and field, baseball, and wrestling. In addition to coaching, he has taken on the responsibilities of HYW President.

Asst. Coach -Michael Glenn Sr. (Vice-President) Novice Tournament DirectorICWL League Representative

  • Michael became involved in the youth program as a parent volunteer/coach when his son Michael-Patrick began wrestling in 1991.  He developed a true passion for the sport and has remained involved with the club in various roles over the past 30 + years.  He became the Haverford Middle School (HMS) Assistant Wrestling coach in 2004.  He was a very successful coach at HMS  for  14 years , going  undefeated (15-0) in 2015.  He became a PIAA Wrestling Official in 2018 where he officiated at Youth, Middle School and High School levels.  He has been extremely involved in youth sports and has coached for  the Haverford Township, Marple Tigers and Rose Tree Colts youth football programs. Michael currently holds the position as Vice-President on the Board. He is a Board of Director on the Inter-County Wrestling  League (ICWL)

Asst. Coach – Peter Oraschewsky

  • Pete started coaching the youth level with football in 1983. He has coached football, soccer, baseball and wrestling. Pete was a U-12 travel soccer team coach and on the board of the Haverford Township Little League. He wrestled in high school and says he had a ton of fun coaching youth wrestling.  Pete also spent time as a PIAA wrestling Official at the Youth , Middle School and High School levels. In addition to coaching, he has taken on the responsibilities of Coaches Coordinator.  Pete is also a Board Member at-large.

Asst. Coach – Matt McGarry

  • Matt started wrestling through the Drexel Hill Raiders program around the age of 7. He also wrestled for Drexel Hill Middle School and had a successful high school wrestling career with Upper Darby High School where he was part of 3 Central League Championship teams. Matt also volunteers his time as a coach for Haverford Youth Football and Hilltop Baseball.

Asst. Coach – Dylan Hewitt

  • Dylan began his wrestling career for Haverford and had very successful middle and high school careers.  He wrestled for Temple University’s Club team for one year before its unfortunate abandonment.  He continued his grappling career training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, and has competed in BJJ, MMA and Muay Thai bouts, remaining undefeated so far in his career.  Additionally, Dylan is a coach at Onyx Combat Sports for both kids and adults.

Asst. Coach – Joseph Hewitt

  • Joe started wrestling in the Pottsgrove/Pottstown youth programs.  He then wrestled at The Hill School (captain in 2007). He wrestled four years at Elizabethtown College and graduated in 2011. Joe was Head Coach at Pottsgrove Youth 2011; Assistant Coach 2012 and Joe was a Referee for Youth, Middle School and High School Referee 2014-2024, Southeast AAA District 1 Regionals 2022 and 2023, District 1 Duals 2023, District 1 AAA Sections 2021-2023 and  PA Prep States 2015-2024. Joe moved to Havertown with his wife in 2015 and has two daughters, (5 y.o.) & (3 y.o.). In his free time you’ll find him spending time at the beach with his family. He is also an avid runner and enjoy playing sevens rugby with Phoenixville Whitehorse.

Asst. Coach – Kevin Clarkson

  • Kevin began his wrestling journey as a child with PAL Wrestling in Port Richmond, an early partner and foundational site for Beat the Streets Philadelphia. During high school, he wrestled at Abraham Lincoln High School in Philadelphia, where he became a PIAA regional qualifier. He continued his career in college, wrestling Division III for four years at Delaware Valley University, which at the time was one of the best DIII schools in the nation. With years of wrestling experience and a new dedication to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kevin is passionate about guiding young athletes. His coaching philosophy emphasizes technique, resilience, sportsmanship, and, above all, having fun, ensuring each athlete enjoys their growth both on and off the mat.

Asst. Coach – Dave Sulkin

  • Dave began wrestling at the age of 4 in South Jersey. He had a great high school campaign at Cherokee High School where he wrestled varsity all four years and capped off his senior year winning District and Regionals and qualified for the NJSIAA State Championships. Dave was teammates with Coach and President Sean Stoner. Dave is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and teaches and trains at Spear Jiu Jitsu in Havertown.

Asst. Coach – Mike Siegel

Coach Mike grew up in Havertown and wrestled for Haverford High School, where he was a two-year varsity wrestler and graduated in 1997. He went on to wrestle at Ursinus College, where he was a starter his junior and senior years and team captain his senior year.

After college, Coach Mike came back to Haverford High as an assistant coach from 2010 to 2012 — following in his dad’s footsteps, who coached at Haverford from 2001 to 2014. Wrestling has always been a big part of his life, and he loves helping young athletes learn the sport, work hard, and have fun on the mat.
